VG Baby S on Capitol’s helm again

As reports said that Davao del Norte Governor Rodolfo del Rosario has already filed his official leave of absence starting next week, Vice Governor Victorio “Baby” Suaybaguio Jr will again serve as the acting governor by the time the governor will be out from the country.

Gov. Del Rosario said that by middle of October he would travel back to United States to be in the side of his son, District 1 Congressman Anthony del Rosario and by the time the doctors of Stanford Cancer Center in California would start the stem cell transplant to completely cure the congressman from his hodgkin lymphoma cancer. He visited his son middle last August for almost one month and arrived in the province Sept. 12.

The congressman was earlier said to have been recovering way ahead of the schedule after undergoing initial chemotherapy treatments in the US, his second after the first chemo  treatment in Manila early last year.

The governor’s wife Madam Inday is reportedly left there although separate report last week said that she along with the congressman’s chief of staff and younger brother Raffy were travelling in London for a religious homage.

The governor said that Cong. AGR would be home before December.

Vice Gov. Suaybaguio has wished for the governor and his family’s safe travel  as well as for the congressman’s complete recovery.

By operations of law, the vice governor will automatically assume as acting governor whenever the governor is out of the country, besides the circumstances of death or of physical incapacity.

As an acting governor, Vice Gov. Suaybaguio has all the powers and functions of the governor except the power to hire and fire provincial workers. (Rural Urban News/Cha Monforte)
