Congressional candidate ex-police officer Cesar “Boy” Mancao and last-termer Congressman Manuel “Way Kurat” Zamora of the Compostela Valley ’s District 1 had reportedly figured in a face-to-face “non-cordial” walk encounter the other week during a general assembly of the parents-teachers association of Compostela elementary school the other week.

Unimpeachable sources said that after Cong. Zamora made his speech before about 2,000 parents and as he was leaving the venue he happened to meet Mancao and there the two figured “non-cordial” confrontasi talk which they themselves could only know and hear.

“From where I sit to their distance during the assembly I knew that it was not really a cordial talk (between them),” a source said in vernacular.

Another source, who also asked not to be identified, said that Mancao accompanied by some of his followers and members of his boardmembers’ and Compostela municipal slates “made a gatecrash” to the gathering.

Mancao and his company under Aksyon Demokratiko Party were reportedly handshaking with the parents while Zamora was delivering his speech with some tirades to the opponents of her daughter Boardmember Maricar Zamora-Apsay, who is running for congresswoman under the administration’s Lakas-Kampi-CMD Party.

One congressman’s tirade talked about Mancao’s recent donation of two ambulance units which were given to the Compostela’s poblacion barangay and Maragusan poblacion barangay.

The congressman reportedly said that Mancao claimed the ambulances to be his when the units were from PCSO donation as first accessed by the municipalities.

But other sources said that it was Mancao who facilitated for the early release of the units from PCSO due to his “close connection to Malacanang”.

The congressman also hit Apsay’s other rival Atty. Jaime “Jun” Lopoz Jr of the Liberal Party but not so much unlike to Mancao, sources said.

Before Zamora ended his speech supporting the candidacy of Apsay, he told the assembly that the next speaker onstage Boardmember Neri Barte would talk in length the ways of Mancao and why the latter should not be voted.

But when Barte took his turn, Mancao already positioned himself near the stage causing Barte to chicken out and preferred not to talk things against Mancao.

It was while Zamora was leaving the stage and when he was already on the ground that he met Mancao and there they engaged in a “non-cordial talk”, sources said.

It could yet be readily known at press time if said PTA had invited Mancao to be present to their assembly. (Cha Monforte/Rural Urban News)
