NEWS: Junked BM Lagunzad still gets RDR backing?

By Cha Monforte, Rural Urban News

Reelectionist Davao del Norte Boardmember Antonio Lagunzad is reportedly still being supported and “funded” by Governor Rodolfo del Rosario since last week when he accordingly started receiving P20,000 weekly campaign allowance.

The boardmember was junked by City Mayor Rey Chiong Uy after he was suspected of distributing rice coming from Congressman Arrel Olano, who is Uy’s mayoralty rival.

Both Uy and Lagunzad are reelectionists under the Liberal Party.

Visible are Uy’s calendars and handbills stating no names of Lagunzad and ex-boardmember Shirley Belen Aala, who is running for a comeback for boardmember’s post.

Earlier, Aala got the same junking from the influential city mayor after her son and candidate for city councilor Tristan Aala went to troop under Olano, who had only three candidates for the 10-man city councilorship when he filed his certificate of candidacy.

It was accordingly Olano who personally endorsed Aala to fill up the vacant boardmember’s slot when the Liberal Party was still on the process of completing its provincial slate.

Uy is only supporting candidates for boardmember last-termer city councilors Atty. Raymond Joey Millan, Vicente “Enting” Eliot Sr. and Ernesto Obero. (Cha Monforte, Rural Urban News)
