Compostela Valley Governor Arturo “Chiongkee” Uy has recently bared he would be still pursuing the plan to form a provincial political aggrupation.

He said that with it they could particularly choose whom to vote for President they like.

As of now, the governor said that personally he did not like seeing Vice President Noli de Castro for President as the administration’s standard bearer.

In that scenario, the provincial political party that the governor would organize could endorse and support the candidacy of the presidential candidate whom the party believes is the one who could lead and make change for the country.

It is however not yet known how Uy’s political aggrupation could be fitted in the arrangement of things after the merger of the Lakas and Kampi parties on the local level.

The governor is taking an oath as the provincial chairman of the Lakas-Kampi party in the province this coming July 21.

Meanwhile, in Nabunturan a local political party in the name of Kusog sa Pamilya Party (KPP) is being organized by Councilor Raul Caballero, who is reported to be running for mayor by 2010 against Vice Mayor Romeo Clarin, who is on the way of finishing his current third term.

The councilor is fast becoming further a niño bonito in town as he made true his promise of not using his councilor’s salaries which he is tapping now to fund the schooling of his 47 scholars.

From 31 scholars last semester, Raul increased his scholars with an additional of 16 scholars who are studying for a two-year computer technician course at Nabunturan College of Science of Technology.

Also, last May 20 also the councilor fulfilled another electoral promise of donating an ambulance to his municipality. On that day the vehicle was turned over to Mayor Macario Humol at the presence of municipal employees.

The running of Hyundai van ambulance is reportedly being blocked by Clarin even as the approval of the ambulance’s deed of donation is being delayed by the majority councilors despite the complete papers of it.

The ambulance was not tapped in ferrying the injured and dying victims of the July 3 grenade throwing infront the Park and Go bakery in town purportedly due to its lack of deed of donation despite that the vehicle is on running condition. (Cha Monforte/Rural Urban News)
