Diwalwal’s Tito is neutral in brgy polls
The police chief of Mabini town in Compostela Valley has shrugged off possibility that there would be hotpot areas in the May 25 barangay polls even in remote upland barangays where the New People’s Army (NPA) rebels have known to be incursing and operating.
Police senior inspector Pablito Odias said that though Mabini has the Golden Valley, Libodon and Panibasan barangays to watch but he said that a violent scenario in the run up and during the barangay polls could not turn into such since peace and order problem in remote villages where there is NPA presence has been to be internally settled by the elders of the indigenous people (IP).
The said barangays are populated by the IP.
Meanwhile, in ABS-CBN report Compostela Valley provincial director PSSupt. Aaron Aquino said that in the province there are seven barangays on the police watchlist which included the Barangay Mt. Diwata where there are many barangay captains running with the ending of the three terms of the usually unopposed barangay captain Franco Tito.
A source said that Tito has declared to be neutral in the upcoming barangay polls by not endorsing any candidate. (Rural Urban News/Cha Monforte)
