While allowing firecrackers to go bang in his city unlike Davao City for many Christmases now, City Mayor Rey “Chiong Oy” Uy bared in an interview that big-sized firecrackers like “Super Lolo” that could badly harm and even kill people are not allowed to be sold and blown in the city.
He added that his standing policy of firecrackers remains to be the same – regulated and only those of rather safe sizes and types.
The Rotary Park remains to be the designated place for the stores to sell their firecrackers.
On the other hand, the mayor bared that the city government as its yearly tradition in meeting the New Year would have its spectacular fireworks display on the sky with various flying pyrotechnics worth P300,000. The fireworks display would be launched along the highway near corner Briz street. (Rural Urban News/Cha Monforte)
