Compostela Valley Governor Arturo “Chiongkee” Uy in an interview bared that he has already personally offered Maragusan Mayor Cesar Colina to be his vice gubernatorial man in tandem by 2013 polls since Vice Gov. Ramil Gentugaya is already going out from his present third term.
“He (Colina) turned it down because he still have one term for reelection by 2013,” the governor said.
He added by Colina’s earlier declining of the offer his choices for possible vice gubernatorial aspirants under the Uswag Comval banner have narrowed down to few probables including former District 1 Congressman Manuel “Way Kurat” Zamora.
Earlier, Laak Mayor and Comval league of mayors president Rey Navarro said that personally he is endorsing Colina to the post due to the latter’s closeness to Uy, experience as boardmember, “his proven business acumen”, being one of the local chief executives and “more importantly his logistics and machinery which can complement that of Governor Uy.”
Besides ideally the vice gubernatorial pick must come from the District 1 since Gov. Uy comes from District 2. Maragusan is a remote highland municipality belonging to District 1.
But Gov. Uy at this early said that the Uswag Comval’s collective decision would still be based on provincewide surveys close to the May 2013 polls on who among the vice gubernatorial probables for 2013 is most winnable. (cha monforte)
