Laak’s long-time interior department employee who has just retired Felisa Navarro is now the punong barangay of Bollokan, Laak, Compostela Valley.
“Ma’am Fely held her joyous despidida for us last October 12 and in October 13, the last day of the filing of certificate of candidacy she ran as barangay chair for Barangay Bollokan which just needs her DILG expertise,” said Cora Villamor, her co-employee of the Dept. of Interior and Local Government.
For over 35 years, Ma’am Fely, better half of Laak Mayor Rey Navarro, had been with the DILG, many years as the municipal local government operations officer of Laak.
“She’s kind, service-oriented and is always a mother to us,” Villamor professes.
In the official report of Laak election officer, Ms. Navarro overwhelmingly defeated her rival Lomeriano Abella.
Laak is a big-territory town with 40 regular barangays and 8 special barangays. (Rural Urban News/Cha Monforte)
