Gaisanos interested to invest in Carmen Business Park – Mayor Perandos

Carmen Mayor Marcelino Perandos has bared that the Gaisanos are among those who have signified interest to invest in Carmen Business Park, the already cleared, open area at the town center where several rundown BLISS houses were then like eyesores for decades if seen from along the national highway.

In an interview, the mayor said that after the municipality brought the property from BLISS Corporation and had it cleared, municipal officials subsequently declared the land as the site ofCarmenBusinessPark.

The mayor wanted business locators in the area to put up big commercial establishments like “those of supermarket types”.

 “There are many investors coming in and among those who signified intent are John Gaisano and Benito Gaisano,” he said.

Asked on what has made him changed the physical look of the town poblacion during his first term, Mayor Perandos, now on his second term, said that “every now and then we should show to the people that we’re working hard to make Carmen a developing municipality from a stagnating, sleeping town.”

He added that the municipality has the most potential to be developed especially that it is located between two cities – Panabo and Tagum.

He said that Carmen now is already past of the sleeping stage.

On the many facelifts he has been making in his town, he said it is anchored on making the town vibrant.

He is thankful for the support and assistance he got particularly from Tagum City Mayor Rey Uy for his city-owned heavy equipment as well as for the infrastructure projects of the Dept. of Public Works and Highways- Davao del Norte District Engineering Office.

“Tagum is like a Big Brother to us, a mother of sort because Carmen is originally part of Tagum. It was in 1968 that Carmen became an independent municipality out from themunicipalityofTagum,” Mayor Perandos said.

In the last May polls, Perandos was overwhelmingly reelected and his entire 10-man Lakas-Kampi-CMD slate under his leadership set a record of being the only slate to have made a complete sweep, from mayor and vice mayor down to the 8 councilors, throughout Davao del Norte. (cha monforte)
