Good Week ‘Syano
So Iran is not buying anymore our bananas, and our thousands of small banana growers and the millions of banana workers in Davao del Norte and Compostela Valley, especially, are facing bleak days ahead. The moolah of our export bananas is being threatened all of the sudden. So this is it: we have to bite the bullet with the flexible and fragile markets of our banana industry that feeds millions. While there’s a good cheer of the general public, there’s bad cheer of the banana-dependent section of our people. We wish the industry leaders, Governor Rodolfo del Rosario, who’s a banana management expert and President PNoy could launch Marshall plan and immediate moves to counter the bad cheer that also dawns in us.- Al Rosero
