Land Transportation Office (LTO) Davao del Norte provincial officer Marietta Piccio has clarified that the newly opened LTO-accredited office in NCCC Mall Tagum City is offering only a drivers’ license renewal service.
“Any driver’s license that needs to be renewed without changes can now be processed in our service provider in NCCC Mall Tagum,” she said in an interview.
She said that the service provider has a memorandum of agreement with the LTO national office.
She bared that the LTO service provider in NCCC Tagum is owned by a private entity, Dra. Vicky Sastre.
With its operations starting last January 21, from the average of “130 licenses for renewal, we are now only processing 55 to 65 licenses for renewal,” Piccio said admitting that the service proivder has helped LTO in decreasing its workload.
She said that since the service provider is offering a one-stop shop, it is gaining income from its other services offered for the drivers such as the drug test and other requirements and services. (cm)
