PSSUPT. WYCOCO: NO LET UP IN DRIVE VS. CRIMINALS

April 14-20, 2011

New Davao del Norte provincial director Edgardo Wycoco has bared that he would be actively pushing a peace and order thrust that the Aquino administration has directed to the police nationwide.
“I would be pursuing an anti-criminality, anti-illegal logging and anti-gambling drive,” he told the media in a lunch break during Monday’s entry and exit conference made by the National Police Commission (Napolcom) regional officials at the Magiting Hall of the known Barracks in Tagum City.
“Tuloy-tuloy naman ang peace and order campaign natin dito,” he added.
As to Napolcom’s activity attended by police officers and chiefs of police in the province, PSSupt. Wycoco said that the exit conference was made as to bare Napolcom’s findings on last year’s evaluation of the provincial police service while entry conference would herald the start of its evaluation for this year.
During the morning conference, Napolcom-XI regional director Benjamin Florentino gave inputs covering various issues and cases relating the professionalization of police service such as eligibility requirements, qualification standards, police schooling and promotion system, effects of human rights violations to police promotion, Napolcom issuances and circulars.
PSSupt. Wycoco said that the Napolcom’s evaluation and findings would give them a view on how the local police service has been running and “what’s to correct” to further improve the police service. (Rural Urban News/Cha Monforte)
