NCCC Supermarket is the No.1 taxpaying corporation while Lorenzo and Lucila Rubinos, owners of the LYR firm, is No.1 taxpaying individual in Tagum City based on their real property tax (RPT) payments for 2011.
In the lists on Top 20 Corporations and Top 20 Individuals recently released by City Treasurer’s Office, NCCC Supermarket paid P7,744,713.24 worth of RPT while Lorenzo/Lucila Rubinos paid P2,005,474.20 worth of RPT.
City Treasurer Edgar de Guzman said in an interview that the lists are based on the assessed values of the real properties the corporations and individuals owned in the city, from which the computation and levying of the real property taxes is based.
In government taxation, real properties consist of land and improvements and machineries.
In his lists obtained exclusively by the Valley & City Chronicle, RPTs paid by the Top 20 corporations totaled to P40.488 million, while RPTs paid by the Top 20 individuals totaled to P9.639 million.
In the Top 20 corporations following NCCC Supermarket, in descending order, are Gaisano Grand Mall with P5.1 million, JS Gaisano, P2.865 million, Coca Cola Bottler’s Inc., P2.538 million, Lapanday Foods Corp, P2.314 million, Mercury Drugs Corp., P1.938 million, Davao Central Warehouse, Inc., P1.826 million, Jollibee, P1.701 million, Buenas Supermart, P1.494 million, Gaisano Center,P1.45 million, Hijo Resources Corp., P1.193 million, Power Up Tires, Battery and Auto Supply Corp., P1.025 million, Avon Cosmetics, Inc., P.948 million, Davao Citihardware,Inc. P.874 million, Pepsi Cola Products Phils., Inc., P.786 million, Bishop Regan Memorial Hospital,P.762 million, Emcor, Inc., P.750 million, Tagum NTS marketing Co., P.710 million, and Prime Fruits International Inc., P.708 million.
